Questions for Study and Reflection
1. Give an example of a time when you had been overwhelmed by something that was quite complex and difficult to comprehend but finally came to understand it. What was it? What was the breakthrough moment for you? What do you think about that same thing today?
2. Read John 3:1-21. What is the “new birth?” Why did God provide the new birth? Explain this.
3. Why does Jesus use the illustration of the bronze snake of Numbers 21:4-9 (read that passage) in comparison to Himself and His mission (vs. 14-15)? What is similar? What is different?
4. How do you explain God’s love for you (vs. 16) to others? What analogies do you use?
5. Explain in your own words John 3:18-21. Can you give examples of these truths from your own life and experience?
6. This week, take time to consider the love God has for you. What things in your life bring the truth of that home to you? With whom have you had opportunity to share the love of God and all He has done in your life and the changes it has brought about? Why not share with someone today!
